Clinical Psychologist and Seasons of Matrescence Educator and Guide in training. EMDR Therapist
Co-founder of Nurture in Psychology. HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist (PYL040113).
I would describe myself as being ‘human’, compassionate, playful, passionate and highly empathic in my approaches. Helping women and mothers feel heard and empowered is something that drives a lot of my therapeutic work.
I have worked in a variety of mental health settings since 2015 including paediatric health, fostering and adoption services, and supporting children with additional needs and their families. I also work with production companies conducting fit for inclusion assessments and providing ongoing support for TV contributors.
I have training across a variety of therapeutic approaches and have special interests in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) level 1. I am also a Seasons of Matrescence Educator and Guide in training and EMDR therapist (Parts 1-4). I use a variety of approaches depending on the individual's needs, involving trauma-informed, compassionate, narrative approaches.
Having experienced the anatomical shift in life following the birth of my children I found ‘matrescence’, which made sense of my new world. I now feel passionately about supporting mothers to rediscover who they are, feel more empowered to navigate the challenges that parenthood might bring, and work through birth trauma.
Having two girls I also feel that it is important to spread the word about matrescence in order to shift the culture around mothering for their future as well as ours.
